Version 1.0.2 is out — a free update for macOS and Windows.
New in 1.0.2
- LFO 1 in time: lengths on the RATE knob. When LFO 1 SYNC is on, the RATE knob steps through the same 16 cycle lengths as Messenger itself: 1/1, 1/2·, 1T, 1/2, 1/4·, 1/2T, 1/4, 1/8·, 1/4T, 1/8, 1/16·, 1/8T, 1/16, 1/32·, 1/16T, 1/32 (· dotted, T triplet). The knob clicks from mark to mark and shows the length below it.
- List of lengths. With SYNC on, double-click the RATE knob for a list of all lengths: pick one and the knob jumps to its mark.
- The DAW shows the length too. With SYNC on, the LFO1 Rate parameter in automation and on MIDI controllers reads as a length (“1/8T”), and you can type a length in. Without SYNC it is a percentage, as before.
Moog does not publish which RATE knob position gives which length, so we measured the table on the synth itself: we recorded the sound at every knob position and measured the LFO period.
Changed in 1.0.1
- Minor Inaccuracies: The ◄ KB OCTAVE ► buttons on the Messenger shifted only its own keyboard. During the prototype phase, we had moved these buttons to the plugin panel. We have now removed them, as their functionality is technically impossible to implement within the plugin.
How to update
Download the kit from the Download page and install it over the previous version, then rescan plugins in your DAW. Projects, presets and automation open as before; your preset library and license are kept. The full list of changes is in the “changes 1.0.2” PDF inside the kit.
